On Thursday: Voice Of The Nation will discuss same-sex marriage initiatives that are taking root across the country, most notably in Vermont as the state House is voting on same-sex marriage legislation tomorrow. Governor Jim Douglas has said he would veto the legislation.

Guest Brian Brown will be joining us from NOM to talk about their North East Action plan, the recent effort to combat the attacks on marriage in the north eastern states.

Brian S. Brown serves as executive director of the National Organization for Marriage. Prior to coming to NOM, Brian was the executive director of the Family Institute of Connecticut. During the five years he was with the Family Institute, he developed it into one of the largest statewide pro-family organizations in the Northeast.

Brian is a C. Phil. at UCLA in American History, earned his B.A./M.A. in Modern History at Oxford University, and received his B.A. in History from Whittier College. Brian and his wife Susan have five young children: Elizabeth, 8, Brian, 6, Anne, 4, and Marie, 3, and John, 1.
