Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings, Yet Another Gay Activist On Tape—Homosexual “Sensitivity” Training Must Be Taught in Kindergarten

Kevin Jennings makes no secret that he wants schoolchildren as young as kindergartners to be taught about “not discriminating” based on sexual orientation. Kerry Picket at the Washington Times has found an audio recording of Jennings speaking about this issue.

Here is a partial transcript of Jennings’ comments on the lack of sexual orientation sensitivity training in school curricula, and how it is causing LGBT students to be persecuted and distracted from studying:

“The fact that this is not in our curriculum should offend everyone in this audience. This should be our curriculum. Our curriculum at kindergarten, and first grade, and second grade – every grade until students have graduated should be ‘you must respect every human being regardless of sexual orientation [etc.]. If we cannot teach this very basic lesson in our schools we will very surprised at how hard it is for these [LGBT] students to learn french or english or math … you can’t focus on reading, writing or ‘rithmetic if you are instead focusing on survival.”

These comments echo what the American Principles Project has discovered Jennings saying on-camera, that all teachers, must be required to undergo LGBT-sensitivity coursework as a requirement before graduating and being allowed in a classroom, otherwise teachers without such training will inevitable become a “threat to children”, he claimed.

In 1997, according to a transcript put together by Brian J. Burt, managing editor of the student-run Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, Jennings said he hoped that promoting homosexuality in schools would be considered fine in the future.

“One of our board members” was called to testify before Congress when they had hearings on the promotion of homosexuality in schools,” Jennings said. “And we were busy putting out press releases, and saying, “We’re not promoting homosexuality, that’s not what our program’s about. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah…. ‘

“Being finished might someday mean that most straight people, when they would hear that someone was promoting homosexuality, would say ‘Yeah, who cares?’ because they wouldn’t necessarily equate homosexuality with something bad that you would not want to promote.”Fox News article exposing Kevin Jennings’ school agenda

The evidence continues to pile up, and yet in contested states like Maine, where same sex marriage is on the ballot, gay activists continue to lie through their teeth, denying the intent of their agenda for schools.  There is fear in the air that should these statements and intents become widely known, that parents, teachers and voters would stage a political backlash against the gay movement.  Counter the lies!

The truth is out there in abundance.  We’ve only scratched the surface.

Protest His Appointment as National Supervisor for “Safe Schools.”

If anyone was concerned about what happened in the Alameda school district (where parents were ignored and the gay agenda introduced to kindergartners), you’ll be interested in this. From the DNA:

Kevin Jennings, founder of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), was appointed by Secretary of Education Arne Duncan to be Assistant Deputy Secretary for the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools.

  • GLSEN once sponsored a conference at Tufts University that was advertised to "youth only ages 14 to 21."
  • Three homosexual activists employed by the Massachusetts Departments of Health and Education led a youth workshop titled "What They Didn’t Tell You about Queer Sex & Sexuality in Health Class." Among other activities, the activists guided the students on gay sex practices.
  • Jennings has spoken publicly about a high school student he once counseled who was in a sexual relationship with an older man — yet Jennings never reported this abuse to the authorities, the school, or the child’s parents.

GLSEN is the chief national group promoting policies to force affirmation of homosexuality in schools, beginning in kindergarten.

Should he be overseeing a major federal program designed to promote the health and well being of students and families? We can only assume, given his past, that he will steer grant money toward programs like those offered by GLSEN that put a homosexual agenda ahead of the rights of parents and the safety of students.

MassResistance: “Youth Pride” Parade: Getting kids to publicly act out homosexuality

“Youth Pride” Parade: Getting kids to publicly act out homosexuality

Ten years ago the chant was “We’re here, we’re queer, we’re coming after your children… ” Now they’ve got the children and the chant is, “We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it…”

The homosexual “youth pride” parade is an insidious tool for homosexual activists to reinforce a “gay” or “transgender” identity in the minds of vulnerable kids. A constant theme throughout the year has been persuading kids to “come out” as homosexual, adopt the homosexual identity they were “meant” to have. In the parade, the activists get them yelling and screaming, chanting homosexual slogans such as “We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it.” They encourage the kids to proudly and publicly display their homosexuality. (This year, a transgender chant was also heard: “What do we want? Trans rights! When do we want ’em? Now!”)

The parade goes from the Boston Common past the State House – where they can flaunt their “gayness” at the symbol of politicians and taxpayers – and then back around the block to the Common for more entertainment.

Honoring the “gay flag”. Parade of kids carries the “gay” flag past the State House.
Greeting the parade. In front of State House, two members of Mass. Commission on GLBT Youth — including man dressed as woman (waving) at left — greet the children in parade as they pass by.

The Commission made sure that high school “gay clubs” came from across the state.

The kids screaming, chanting, and proclaiming their “gayness” is chilling.

Radical sexual propaganda affects the most vulnerable

Already troubled kids are the ones most harmed by their messages.

Left: Boy dressed in girls’ clothes marching in parade with cigarette.

Right: Girl with sign echoed throughout homosexual activities: “Love has no boundaries.”

Various “message” shirts . . . courtesy of homosexual lobby

Homosexual activists give kids shirts with political, religious, and sexual messages to wear.

Acting out their “gay” identies

Kids (below) using the excitement of public parade to show the world how they’ve “come out” as homosexual, thanks to hardcore activists in the schools.  This is very sad to see.

This is what YOUR state, YOUR politicians, and YOUR tax money is doing to our children.

Outing the NEA

Outing the NEA

By: Lawrence Sand

The nation’s largest teachers union wants to teach your children about sex . . . and not the general concepts.

Sending me to a public school in New York in the 1950s was an easy decision for my parents. The schools were good, discipline was taught and practiced, and my parents knew that when I stepped inside the schoolhouse the values they instilled in me would be shared and reinforced by my teachers, the principal, the guidance counselor, and everyone else. At a minimum, no one would challenge their parental authority. Unfortunately, this is often not the case anymore. Academic standards have been lowered, grade inflation is prevalent, multiculturalism is rampant, and student violence toward other students and teachers is not uncommon. And the most prominent teachers unions are leading the charge to impose its leftist agenda on young people — and teach them graphic sexuality.

There is much happening behind the scenes, however, that most parents aren’t aware of when they send their little ones off to public school. Perhaps their greatest area of ignorance is the agenda of the National Education Association, the largest teachers union in the U.S. with more than 2.7 million members. The NEA’s politics have become more and more left-wing, especially over the past 20 years. Through diversity training classes, teachers are emboldened to introduce new definitions of “family” and sexuality to young children; religious and cultural traditions and holidays are being replaced by worship of  “the earth,” and the “3 R’s” are taking a backseat to an aggressive “progressive” agenda that is more indoctrination than education  – e.g., anti-Bush protests (in concert with the ultra liberal, gun control legislation, gay rights, hate crimes legislation, and abortion on demand. While the NEA does not directly make school policy, they do create curricula that school boards adopt. Additionally, local union affiliates spend millions through their political action arm to get “their” people elected to school boards.

And woe be to any politician who commits the sin of challenging the teachers union. The NEA and its junior partner, the American Federation of Teachers, have committed millions of dollars to oppose California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s attempts to implement much-needed reforms in education and to limit spending increases in a state swimming in red ink. For his efforts, the governor has had to endure an onslaught of negative ads, painting him as an insensitive right-winger who doesn’t care about teachers or kids, and his approval ratings have plunged.

Reg Weaver, the current NEA president, has stated that the union’s rank and file is roughly 1/3 Democrat, 1/3 Republican and 1/3 independent, yet a huge percentage of the union’s political contributions — some estimate it as much as 95 percent — go to leftist politicians and causes. In 2004, Kerry supporters outnumbered Bush supporters there by more than 6–1. Predictably, they roared in approval last year when Hillary Clinton stepped in for John Kerry, who cancelled at the last minute, and gave a warm-up speech for a showing of Michael Moore’s controversial Bush-bashing film Fahrenheit 911.

While the NEA’s activities are very disturbing, there is a “David” to fight the Goliath. A small but energetic faction within the union called the Conservative Educator’s Caucus was formed by Sissy Jochmann, a second grade teacher in Pennsylvania, Jeralee Smith, a teacher of physically handicapped children in California and Judy Bruns, a junior high school language arts teacher in Ohio. They formed the CEC four years ago because they felt the NEA leadership was not being responsive to a significant proportion of their membership that disagreed with the union’s left-wing political and social agenda.

The issue that galvanized the group at the annual convention in 2001 was the introduction of a resolution to integrate radical homosexual themes — a central part of the NEA agenda — into the public school curriculum. In 2003, when Jochmann once again objected to this endorsement, she was shouted down by a vast majority of the delegates of the Representative Assembly. Compounding conservatives’ frustration, at its 2004 convention the NEA gave its prestigious Human Rights Award to Kevin Jennings, the founder of the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN). This is the group that presided over the infamous “Fistgate” conference held at Tufts University in Massachusetts in March 2000, where state employees gave explicit instructions (about “fisting” and other forms of gay sexual activity) to children as young as 12. The conference was secretly recorded and can be heard here. The contents are extraordinarily vile.

Unfortunately, “Fistgate” was not an isolated incident. On April 30 of this year GLSEN held an event at Brookline High School in Massachusetts, and distributed an obscene booklet to hundreds of middle and high school students. With headings like F**kin’, S**kin’ and Spit or Swallow?, it describes various sexual practices that can only be described as perverse.

Because the CEC has protested this outrageous misuse of the classroom, they are branded homophobic. However, the CEC will not back off.  Jochmann, who shrugged off being shouted down by more than 9,000 fellow NEA activists, and Smith, an acknowledged ex-homosexual demonized as a traitor to the cause, will not be intimidated by namecalling.

The NEA hardly appears to be acting in the best interests of our nation’s youth. If our children are our most precious commodity, then we, as a people, must speak up for them. The CEC is stepping up their efforts to change NEA policy. They want their union to fight for education, not to bring sexual how-to classes into elementary school or attempt to manipulate the values of pre-teens. We owe our children nothing less.

CRI: Parents Beware! GLSEN Founder to be National Supervisor for “Safe Schools”

“The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you’ve got it made.”  —Groucho Marx

GLSEN Founder, Kevin Jennings has been asked to be the National Supervisor charged with overseeing “Safe Schools”.

In his own words, activist Kevin Jennings, director of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) describes how immorality got a foothold in the Massachusetts schools by using “safety” as an issue.”

“We immediately seized upon the opponent’s calling card — safety — and explained how homophobia represents a threats to students’ safety by creating a climate where violence, name-calling, health problems, and suicide are common. Tilting our report, ‘Making Schools Safe for Gay and Lesbian Youth,’ we automatically threw our opponents onto the defensive and stole their best line of attack. This….short-circuited their arguments and left them back-peddling from day one.”

GLSEN Founder to Oversee “Safe Schools” Nationwide

Much has been made of the new Supreme Court nominee, but just as concerning is what flies under the radar.

In an announcement on Tuesday, Federal Secretary of State Arne Duncan made his choice for Assistant Deputy Secretary in the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools.

He chose Kevin Jennings, a leading advocate for homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality in schools. Jennings is founder and former Executive Director of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN).

“This man’s work and his agenda are exactly why we’ve seen the radical pro-homosexuality curriculum pushed across California. He is now more strongly positioned to implement his agenda nationwide,” said Karen England, Executive Director of Capitol Resource Institute.

Jennings has been at the forefront of homosexual activism in public schools since the late 1980s, when as a high school history teacher, he was the faculty advisor to America’s first Gay-Straight Alliance club in Massachusetts.

It was in Massachusetts that he helped author Making Schools Safe for Gay & Lesbian Youth, a report whose recommendations the State Board of Education adopted as policy.

Among his recent accomplishments, Jennings co-chaired Obama for America’s LGBT Finance Committee.

As Californians know by experience, what GLSEN promotes as “school safety” usually means that every schoolchild will embrace the homosexual lifestyle or else be labeled a bigot.

This philosophy, spread across the nation by federal authority, do not promote safety for every child.

In practice, as parents in California’s Alameda Unified School District experienced this week, this philosophy means that race and religion can become less protected categories in school.

“In the last two weeks, I’ve heard from parents coast to coast who are concerned about instruction that promotes homosexuality in their children’s schools,” England said.

“The decision to appoint Jennings to the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools should concern every parent, everywhere, because his social bias is abundantly clear,” she said.

Can’t We All Just Get Along?
by Rich Wyler, republished with permission

That was the plaintive cry of police beating victim Rodney King during the 1992 Los Angeles riots that erupted after a jury found the police not guilty. I was working at a bank in downtown Los Angeles at the time, and was a firsthand witness to the rampant destruction that led Rodney King to go on television to plead for civility.

“Can’t we all just get along?”

Rodney King’s words come back to me as I contemplate this year’s planned “Day of Silence” on Friday, April 17, organized by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, or GLSEN. On the Day of Silence, high school and middle school students are encouraged to take a day-long vow of silence to symbolize solidarity with the supposed “silencing” of “GLBT” students and their supporters.

In response, more than 20 conservative groups are calling for a walk-out at participating middle and high schools, urging parents to keep their children home Friday, according to the Christian Post. Meanwhile, the Alliance Defense Fund has responded by organizing its own “Day of Truth,” scheduled for Monday April 20. Students are encouraged to wear T-shirts and pass out cards with messages like:

“I’m speaking the Truth to break the silence. True tolerance means that people with differing — even opposing — viewpoints can freely exchange ideas and respectfully listen to each other. It’s time for an honest conversation about homosexuality. There’s freedom to change if you want to. Let’s talk.”

I find the claim of gays being silenced to be ironic to the point of Orwellian doublespeak. From where I sit, the gay lobby appears to have an enormous platform to speak out, including the world’s news media in their hands. Never has any “oppressed minority” overcome so much to become so celebrated and endorsed by the world’s media and political and entertainment elite in so few years.

Meanwhile, those who would dare claim that maybe gays are not “born that way,” and point out that some people have changed from gay to straight, are routinely and roundly ridiculed as small-minded, hate-mongering homophobes and are regularly shamed into silence. Try speaking out with this alternative viewpoint, and see who it is that is really being silenced. Your view will typically be labeled as divisive hate speech, and hate speech cannot be tolerated.

Nevertheless, the answer, in my view, is not to lash out at the gay lobby and fan the flames of dissent. The answer is to display true tolerance, not the artificial tolerance that is really a code word for “endorse-our-viewpoint-and-our-way-of-life-or-be-attacked-as-a-homophobe.”

Too many people want to make homosexuality and the possibility of change an us-versus-them, all-or-nothing issue with clear winners and losers. Small-minded, hate-mongering homophobes (allegedly) on one side versus lust-driven, devil-loving perverts (allegedly) on the other side.

Can’t we all just get along?

As the founder of People Can Change, I quite clearly represent the viewpoint that sexual orientation change is possible…at least for some people. Is it possible for everyone? How could I possibly know that?

I only know that I have experienced profound change, and am much happier for it. I also know that many of my friends and colleagues in this movement have experienced dramatic change, and are much happier for it. And that is the message I choose to share.

I have always said as much on the People Can Change Web site. I have stated it in my audio CD, Journey Out of Homosexuality. It is part of our organization’s foundational philosophies, which state in part:

— We recognize the inherent and equal worth of all people. We strongly object to “gay bashing” – just as we object to “ex-gay bashing” – and instead encourage compassion and understanding for all who deal with or have ever dealt with homosexuality, however they may choose to address it in their lives. We respect their dignity, worth, right to self-determination, and right to equal protection under the law.

— Significant sexual-orientation change may or may not be possible for every person who has homosexual desires. Likewise, pursuing change is not the only possible response to unwanted homosexual feelings and may or may not be the most appropriate resolution for any particular individual.

— No one can make anyone else change their sexual orientation against their will, nor do we believe anyone should attempt to force or pressure someone to change who is not intrinsically motivated to do so.

Despite this policy of tolerance and respect, I regularly receive hate email, lashing out at me as a homophobe and hate-monger, sometimes damning me to hell and wishing me an early and painful death.

Whatever happened to freedom of choice? To the right to self determination? And simply to free speech?

Sharing my personal story, and the path that worked for me and has worked for so many others, is not anti-gay.

It is pro-individual.

It is pro-self-determination.

It is pro-choice.

If we could all show more respect for the individual, for self-determination, for freedom of choice, then certainly we could all get along.

Sticks and Stones Propaganda in Schools

Gay Activists From GLSEN Silencing Criticism and Redefining “Hate” for the Next Generation

As part of “No Name-Calling Week”, schools will be teaching children that those who disagree with the homosexual lifestyle are motivated by “hate” and the implied message is that you have to accept the behavior choices in order to accept the person.

This public education message, sponsored by GLSEN, a group dedicated to bringing homosexuality to schools, sows seeds of confusion about sexual behavior and moral decision making.  Labeling and stereotyping opposition to gay activist doctrine as “hate” glosses over the many arguments out there and presents a false choice to children:  Hate or embrace!

Why are schools partnering with sexual propagandists?  Can’t we teach respect and civility without forcing the redefinition of religion and sexual ethics?

See these clips from the WorldNetDaily:

The No Name-Calling Week Coalition, created by Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing and the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, or GLSEN, consists of more than 40 national partner organizations. The coalition organized the first No Name-Calling Week in schools across the nation during the week of March 1-5, 2004. This year, No Name-Calling Week will take place next week.

The website claims it wants to focus national attention on the problem of name-calling in schools. Its GLSEN sponsor, however, offers a web page that specifically lists terms and their definitions, including condemnation of “heterosexism,” defined as the “attitude that heterosexuality is the only valid or acceptable sexual orientation.”

It also defines “ally” as someone “who supports and stands up for the rights of LBGT people.”  The GLSEN site labels “homophobia” as the “fear of lesbians and gay men.”

“No Name-Calling” campaign spokesman Daryl Presgraves told WND the campaign is intended to allow students to discuss “all types of hurtful names” including religious slurs, racist slurs and those about sexual orientation.

Other sponsors listed on the promotion’s website include the Anti-Defamation League, Educators for Social Responsibility, the National Education Association and the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

What about those who disagree with the homosexual lifestyle?  Is it right to call them bigots or haters or homophobes for their beliefs?  What makes one label better than another?

Bullying, name calling, and every other disrespectful habit can and should be discouraged in schools but the solution is not to endorse homosexuality, and it’s certainly not creating a new class of acceptable names to call people.

GLSEN advocates homosexuality by obscuring the line between people and actions.  Dealing in fine lines and sophistries, they teach children that gay behavior is something worthy of respect and defense, rather than teaching respect for the person, regardless of behavior.  You can have respectful dissent from behavior and still respect the person, but because these groups are pushing the gay agenda, stifling dissent through “hate” labeling and softening attitudes about behavior is what it’s all about.  With one little twist, all of a sudden, Jesus’ teachings to love the sinner, not the sin, turns into hate speech.

Sound familiar?  This rhetorical sophistry is rampant worldwide in gay advocates’ march toward sexual enlightenment.

Parents should be alarmed that groups like GLSEN and Planned Parenthood have such unlimited access to children in schools.  Protect your children!  Corrupted moral ideas can be destructive weapons, and creating support for those ideas among our impressionable next generation is exactly what they are after.
